Sometimes I find myself going far from home just to find photos I might enjoy often taking the things I left behind for granted.  This morning I woke to see the light falling across my room leaving interesting shapes and enhancing the texture of everything it touched.  I got up from bed and got my camera and began taking many photos of the fallen light around the apartment from different perspectives.  These are a few I enjoyed most.

I know I don’t have the best track record with house plants but I decided since it’s not possible for me to freeze a plant in Vancouver I’d give it another go… Meet Hector the cactus.

This was one of my first attempts at a long exposure using welding glass as a ND filter. Since I didn’t have a tripod or release cable I had to try my hardest to keep the camera still on the railing of the fishing pier, if you look closely there is visible horizonal motion from the occasional bump to the railing. Having never tried using a DIY filter before I think I did not too bad. 170 Seconds @ f/16 iso 50
